Young Lives is a unique, innovative longitudinal study following the lives of 12,000 children in Ethiopia, India (in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), Peru and Vietnam since 2002. Young Lives is recognised internationally as one of the only longitudinal studies taking a holistic approach to children living in poverty.

In October 2018 they were awarded the Jury’s Special Prize by Premio PODER, the most important ceremony for think tanks in Peru, in recognition of its 18-year long contribution to evidence-based decisions to fight childhood poverty.

As quoted by the presenter, “This is a well-deserved recognition of the study’s influence on shedding light on the drivers and impacts of childhood poverty, as well as, generating evidence to help policymakers design programmes that make a real difference to poor children and their families”.

The Old Dart Foundation have a three-year partnership with Young Lives, supporting the Niños del Milenio research collaboration in Peru.
